Matthias is a seasoned design professional whose career spans over 25 years of practice, pedagogy, and policy. His journey began at Temasek Polytechnic in Interior Architecture & Design, followed by a Master of Design at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).​

His professional background is defined by a “triple-perspective” rarely found in the industry, with 8 years of rigorous industry practice and 17 years as a dedicated design educator at both Temasek and Nanyang Polytechnics. ​

His career was further enriched by a strategic stint at the Design Singapore Council. It was there that Matthias reached a key realization that the design industry often operates in fragments, yet its true strength lies in its totality. He is committed to weaving education and industry practice into a unified, thriving reality for Singapore’s design community.​
