I’m Sookling, Design Director at Brewin Design Office — a boutique firm specializing in luxury hospitality and high-end residential projects across Singapore and Hong Kong. We recently opened Capella Kyoto, with three more Capella properties and a Park Hyatt in development. ​

My work spans the full project lifecycle — from concept through to delivery — in close collaboration with international operators, consultants, and stakeholders. I’ve found that the hardest part of great design isn’t the vision — it’s the alignment. ​

Over the past two years as a SIDS member, I’ve been thinking about how the Society can be more meaningful for designers like us. The current offerings work well for many, but there’s room to better support those working across the region and globally — whether through championing Singapore designers overseas, sharing real project experience, or helping younger designers understand global practice.​

I would value the opportunity to contribute to this.​
