Care for Wellbeing

Designing environments that support physical, emotional, and cognitive health is becoming increasingly important in creating spaces that promote holistic wellbeing. This symposium explores how interior designers can integrate biophilic and sensory design, thoughtful lighting, acoustics, materiality, and spatial planning to support diverse physical and psychological needs. Experts from healthcare, wellness, and design fields will share real-world applications, design considerations, and approaches to creating clinics, hospices, therapy environments, and everyday spaces that feel restorative, inclusive, and supportive. The session will explore mental health, neurodiversity, and emerging wellness principles, inspiring new thinking about how interior environments can positively influence human health, comfort, and quality of life.
